Lesson 3: Members of the Family!

 For today's lesson, you are going to learn about the members of the family in Russian! Focus on the pronouncation chart provided, then by the end of today's lesson, you will be able to name all the members of your Family taught.

Mother- мама (pr. mama) 

Father- папа (pr. papa)

Sister- сестра (pr. sestra)

Brother- брат (pr. brat)

Grandmother- бабушка (pr. babushka)

Grandfather- дедушка (pr. dedushka)

Auntie- тётя (pr. tyotya)

Uncle- дядя (pr. dyadya)

Cousin, female- двоюродная сестра (pr. dvoyurodnaya sestra)

Cousin, male- двоюродный брат (pr. dvoyurodniy brat)

Nephew- премяник (pr. plemyanik)

Niece- премяница (pr. plemyanitsya) 

Great, eg. greatgrandad or greatgrandma- про (pr. "pro". Use this prefix in front of word such as grandad etc. This will indicate that she or he is a greatgrandparent.)

The above lesson vocabulary are the basics. There will be a further set of vocabulary for extended knowledge about family and family members. In the next lesson there will also be a guideline about the use and sentence structure to talk about your family.
